Nonprofits Can Now Benefit From Integrated Applications Including Community Toolbars and Workplace Giving Portals
Kintera Inc. has announced that Kintera Connect™, the company’s open application integration platform, is available for clients and partners to integrate directly with Kintera technology. As a result, best of breed solutions are now available through the Kintera Connect Partner Program, providing organizations with the freedom to select solutions to best meet their unique needs.
Kintera has partnered with nearly 30 industry leading partners in both the enterprise and nonprofit technology sectors to develop new solutions to the challenges organizations face. As an example, FreeCause provides customizable browser toolbars to help nonprofits stay at the forefront of supporters’ minds. Integrating with Kintera CRM, Kintera clients using the FreeCause toolbar can leverage the extensive segmentation data housed in Kintera’s platform to segment their audience and provide tailored information and messages to constituents via the FreeCause toolbar. For example, geographic information such as where supporters live would enable an organization to send broadcast information about specific regional events only to the relevant audience using the nonprofit-branded toolbar.
“The Kintera Connect platform has enabled FreeCause to offer nonprofits a customized, interactive browser toolbar with which to engage supporters. As an alternative direct marketing mechanism, FreeCause now empowers organizations to further energize their online community with targeted, personalized news postings, messages, and streaming video and audio clips based on the preferences and interests the nonprofit already knows about the supporter,” said Matthew Adkisson, co-founder and CEO for FreeCause. “Without the Kintera Connect platform, nonprofits couldn’t benefit from the integrated information and technology available from both FreeCause and Kintera.”
Both Kintera partners and clients benefit from the company’s multi-tenant architecture. Unlike client/server or hosted ASP environments, Kintera’s multi-tenancy enables all clients and applications to share one centrally maintained common infrastructure and code base. As a result, Kintera clients benefit from low costs, rapid deployment, ongoing maintenance and upgrades, and a focus on scalability and performance. In addition, the multi-tenant architecture creates a distinct boundary between Kintera’s open platform and the applications that run on it, which means that an application is prevented from changing or infringing on any other application unlike other platforms where it is common to alter underlying code. Kintera’s multi-tenancy also provides consistent APIs, which means that Kintera partners can develop an application integrated with Kintera technology once and offer it repeatedly to other clients.
“Kintera is the first dedicated nonprofit software vendor to meet industry demand for an open platform. Our multi-tenant approach benefits both clients and partners, and we expect that market demand will force other nonprofit software vendors to follow Kintera’s lead,” said Rich LaBarbera, Kintera CEO. “Kintera Connect enables nonprofits to leverage the industry’s best technologies from a broad spectrum of application partners to build comprehensive donor management and event solutions. As a result, clients will benefit from the information housed in Kintera’s platform throughout the nonprofit’s end-to-end business process.”
WPG Solutions clients are now also benefiting from an integrated application with Kintera. Clients using the employee portal for workplace giving campaigns, such as Community Health Charities of America, are now benefiting from Kintera’s robust, redundant architecture, online donation processing, reporting and disbursement capabilities. By selecting the WPG application, organizations can consolidate distribution, eliminate the need for merchant accounts, and save cost, efficiency and staffing, while offering employees more direct control over where their money goes as a result of the integration with Kintera.
“The Kintera Connect platform has enabled WPG Solutions to better meet clients’ payment processing needs, providing greater benefit and capabilities to organizations by integrating directly with Kintera technology. Kintera’s open platform has enabled WPG to quickly and easily build enhancements into our application,” said Bob Ellsworth, co-founder of WPG Solutions. “Now WPG clients can benefit from even more services to offer employees during their workplace giving campaigns.”
As part of its commitment to an open platform, Kintera Connect application programming interface (API) documentation is available at www.kintera.com/kinteraconnect.
“Emotive has used Kintera’s comprehensive API documentation in the development of several mash-ups that will be available to Kintera clients,” said Matt Briney, vice president for emotive. “The concise nature of the documentation combined with the helpful examples included have enabled emotive to design several offerings that will provide significant value to the nonprofit sector, such as additional constituent and program analysis, and organizational efficiency, on top of Kintera’s award-winning technology capabilities.”
Kintera will continue to work with partners to develop and deliver best of breed applications for nonprofits on an ongoing basis. For more information about Kintera Connect, available applications or to view the Kintera Partner Directory, visit www.kintera.com/kinteraconnect.
