The mGive Foundation and GetLisa Team Up

The mGive Foundation (www.mgive.org), the leading 501(c)(3) public charity supporting U.S. mobile donation campaigns, today announced it has partnered with GetLisa Information Services to provide regional-area wireless subscribers with the capability to participate in mobile giving campaigns - a first in the regional wireless industry.

GetLisa is a regional carrier aggregator that provides service to 40 regional wireless carriers. Through GetLisa's infrastructure messaging solutions, subscribers in rural areas can access the mobile giving channel quickly and easily to donate to their favorite causes, and nonprofit organizations will be able to reach millions of potential new donors through mobile giving campaigns.

"Regional carriers are often challenged to offer the same options to their subscribers as their larger counterparts, because most wireless data services and solutions are not developed with the smaller carrier in mind," said George Woodward, CEO of GetLisa. "In the case of mobile giving, regional carriers simply did not have the infrastructure in place to support these campaigns. Now that we've bridged that gap through our partnership with The mGive Foundation, our customers and their subscribers can take part in the mobile giving channel for the first time."

GetLisa is an early pioneer in localization apps for mobile devices. The company developed an application called Local Information Services Assistant (LISA) that delivers local information to mobile phones that is self-published by community organizations, institutions and individuals. Using its Extended Messaging Xchange (EMX) Gateway in combination with its LISA Local Shortcode application, regional carriers can create, manage, and run their own local shortcode campaigns to their subscribers.

"Mobile giving campaigns offer the most innovative, dynamic way for nonprofits to interact with the community. Thanks to GetLisa's technology, these organizations will now be able to connect with a donor base that has been largely untapped to date," said Jenifer Snyder, executive director of The mGive Foundation. "We are thrilled to be working with GetLisa to expand the reach of mobile marketing for philanthropic purposes."

"Our subscribers expect to have services that are on par with the biggest carriers," said Bob Mauer, General Manager of Chat Mobility in Iowa. "Working with The mGive Foundation and GetLisa to offer mobile giving to our users lets us meet those expectations."
