Mobile Giving Foundation Hosts Mobile Giving Forum

The Mobile Giving Foundation (MGF), the pioneer of mobile giving dedicated to helping charitable organizations raise funds through the mobile channel, today announced that it will host the second annual Mobile Giving Forum on October 27 at French Institute Alliance Française in New York City. Following last year's successful inaugural event, the Forum will gather the non-profit organizations (NPOs), corporate foundations, wireless carriers, technology providers and other influencers from the growing mobile-giving ecosystem for a day-long program on the advancement of mobile philanthropy.

"Mobile giving has made huge strides in the last year, with more charities operationalizing text‑to-give fundraising for everyday use, versus only for emergency or disaster relief," said Jim Manis, Chairman and CEO of the Foundation. "There remains much work to be done in the areas of education, advocacy and standards though, and the Forum will bring together key players in the non‑profit and mobile industries to reflect where the industry is now and where we need to take it in the future."

Educating NPOs about mobile giving through the sharing of best practices and innovative case studies is a top priority for the Forum. "Charities need further reinforcement that mobile giving can factor into their overall fund development programs along with other sources of revenue and that the public now trusts the text-to-give experience as safe and reliable," said Manis. "The Forum program will cover pragmatic lessons on how large and small non-profit organizations have integrated mobile-giving campaigns into their donor engagement strategies."

In addition, the Forum will offer an opportunity for NPOs to network with technology partners that enable innovative text-to-give campaigns.

According to Manis, through the generosity of the Forum sponsors, the $195 early bird registration fee will be waived for the first 100 non-profit professionals who provide a verifiable 501(c)3 Federal Non-Profit Tax ID Number during the online registration process (limit two attendees per organization).
