Vibes and Bright Pink Go Mobile to Beat Breast Cancer

Vibes, a mobile marketing and technology company, today announced it is powering Bright Pink'sUnderwire Alerts, monthly mobile messaging reminders from the national nonprofit organization to promote better breast health by taking matters into individuals' own hands, literally, with monthly text reminders to be breast self-aware.

"It is so important to Bright Pink to reach as many young women as possible and empower them to take steps for early prevention and detection," said Lindsay Avner, founder and executive director of Bright Pink. "We turned to mobile because Underwire Alerts put our message right in the palms of our members' hands and reminds them to take a moment to be aware of their breast health. It's a hugely successful program for us and we hope it will have a major impact on women's health."

Bright Pink developed the Underwire Alerts campaign to reach women and remind them to take a proactive approach with their breast health. Through their partnership with Vibes, Bright Pink set up a program allowing participants to subscribe to Underwire Alerts via SMS and receive a mobile alert message the first Wednesday of every month. The alerts are crafted to appeal and engage the younger demographic with lighthearted messages that get their attention reminding them to "mind their melons," "touch their tatas," and "treasure their chest."

The Underwire Alerts program is also promoted at all major Bright Pink fundraisers and has even enlisted celebrities such as Giuliana Rancic and local radio personalities to drive participation by telling women on air to get their phones out and text!

"When it comes to health, it's a personal matter. And what better way to stay informed than through the most personal communication device - the mobile phone," said Alex Campbell, co-founder and CEO of Vibes. "We knew this was an enormous opportunity to support an initiative we believe so strongly in and connect people with important and timely health information in a way that truly makes a difference."

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and the perfect time to sign up. To enroll in Underwire Alerts, text PINK to 59227. Standard message and date rates apply.
