Kiwanis International partners with Aplos for club accounting and Form 990 software
Aplos Software, has announced that it will partner with Kiwanis International to offer nonprofit accounting and Form 990 software for Kiwanis clubs. Kiwanis International has over 8,000 adult clubs throughout the world and is a global organization of members of every age who are dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.
As the recommended software for club treasurers, Aplos will assist the organization’s clubs in maintaining their tax-exempt status with preparation and submission of Form 990, a required annual IRS informational return. In addition, treasurers will use the web-based fund accounting software to track finances by funds, share access with club officers, and securely transition accounting records between treasurers.
Kiwanis clubs will utilize the Aplos suite of web-based nonprofit software products, Aplos e-File, Accounting, and Donations. Fund accounting is a crucial element for nonprofits like Kiwanis to correctly track dedicated funds. With Aplos Donations, clubs can also accept and track online donations.
If a club fails to file a Form 990-N three years in a row, they automatically lose their tax-exempt status. To prevent this from occurring, the headquarters for Kiwanis International will utilize Aplos Oversight to monitor the e-file status of clubs to help clubs maintain their tax-exempt status.
As a cloud-based software, users can access Aplos online from any location with an Internet connection, have multiple users with role-based permissions, and automatically back up data online. Kiwanis clubs change treasurers regularly and need to share auditing access with external accountants, so the web-based platform allows the clubs to securely share access without software downloads or moving data. Kiwanis clubs can register for Aplos Accounting at www.aplos.com/partners/kiwanis.
