Causemo Launches To Redefine The Experience Of Giving

Causemo, a digital giving platform, launched today announcing a $4 million investment that fuels the Company's efforts to revolutionize giving. Giving must seamlessly integrate into everyday digital experiences to effectively align with the lifestyle of today's consumer.

Last year, more than $358 billion was donated to nonprofit organizations in the United States alone, however, only 6.7 percent of the money was raised online. The average American adult spends more than two hours a day online, according to the Nielsen study "An Era of Growth."

"People spend hours online every day at home and on the go - shopping, connecting with friends, and streaming media - yet the level of giving through digital experiences is dismal. The experience of giving must evolve on a global scale," said Dave Furneaux, CEO and co-founder of Causemo. "That's why we created Causemo - to transform giving into something that is extraordinarily accessible from within the apps and sites people use every day. When giving is easy, everyone wins."

Backed by Accomplice via its BOSS Syndicate, Furneaux Capital, Park Vale Capital, Real Ventures, and notable technology experts Lars Albright, Michael Katz, and Mike Weider, Causemo connects consumers with causes they care about through digital giving experiences that are simple, engaging and fulfilling. Causemo is currently working with nearly 20 cause organizations, including Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, and City Year, to drive donations through its digital giving platform. Earlier this month, Causemo launched an initiative with Save the Children, which invests in childhood - every day, in times of crisis and for our future - in the United States and around the world.

"People are giving to causes they care about but only a small percentage give online. Part of the reason is that how we give doesn't reflect how we live in a social and mobile world," said Ettore Rossetti, Senior Director of Social Business Strategy & Innovation at Save the Children. "Causemo has the potential to modernize the giving experience and truly ignite giving in all of us."
