“Constellation is pleased to support our customers’ dedication to giving back to their communities,” said Kevin Klages, senior vice president, mass markets for Constellation. “Since the program’s inception in 2013, Constellation’s Community Champions Program has awarded over $315,000 in funding to more than 660 projects that have made significant educational and environmental impacts in the communities we serve.”

For Constellation customer Amy Yates, the $500 Community Champions grant helps to build an outdoor classroom for Little Mill Middle School in Forsyth County, Georgia.

“We are building raised gardens for vegetables, benches, and a covered area for classes to meet,” said Yates. “Thank you Constellation for helping us further our goals for our deserving students!”

Helen Ponce’s $500 Community Champions award went to the Haven House Art Project, a healing art programs for women at the Haven House domestic abuse shelter in Georgia. “My class teaches the women at this shelter that art can create a space to heal. The funds from this grant will help me to keep giving the healing gift of art. Thank you!”

Other Constellation customers are using Community Champions to support the Southwest Tech Foundation, in Fennimore, Wisconsin and to provide benefit support for the therapeutic horse program SIRE and its annual event in Houston, Texas. A full list of new grant recipients can be viewed here.

To apply, visit www.constellation.com/communitychampions and have your account number on hand to identify you as a Constellation customer. Community-based efforts focusing on education, youth and the environment are eligible for funding. Designated 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organizations are eligible for requests up to $500, and other community causes may submit requests up to $250. Grant submissions are accepted three times each year in February, May and September.
