Serenic Announces Serenic Navigator V5.0

Serenic Corporation, a publisher of financial management and business operations software for nonprofit organizations and government agencies, has announced that it has released Version 5.0 of Serenic Navigator.

Navigator, powered by Microsoft Dynamics NAV, is Serenic’s flagship product. It combines robust core financial functionality and a full suite of integrated industry-specific ERP applications, such as the new Serenic AwardVision, with sophisticated Microsoft technology.

The most significant new feature of Version 5.0 is the re-innovation of the existing Grant Management application into Serenic AwardVision, a tracking and monitoring system that allows users to efficiently manage the entire lifecycle of a grant.

AwardVision delivers the functionality needed by large, multinational organizations that receive federal and/or private funding to perform programs and services in many different countries and currencies. AwardVision brings together both the structured and unstructured data for an award into a single application. This data integration lets users easily view complex financial information, such as total estimated award amount, sub-awards, actual expenditures, indirect costs, and amount invoiced. In addition, compliance and monitoring information, such as award terms and conditions, milestone activities, and funding restrictions, is easily monitored with AwardVision.

Other new features of this major release include:
• Tighter integration with Microsoft products through Outlook synchronization and the use of Word and Excel stylesheets;
• New payroll functionality, including a “create employee wizard,” error trapping in the calculation process, and new journal displays; and
• Improved online help, with a link to provide documentation feedback.

“In addition to the major application enhancements of Navigator 5.0, we spent considerable time and effort optimizing the underlying code to increase performance and minimize the amount of locking during certain processes,” said Donna Smiley, Serenic’s vice president of product management. “Extensive analysis of major ledger tables resulted in the elimination or reorganization of keys in order to gain better performance and reduce overall database size. Initial testing has shown dramatic performance increases, which we believe will greatly strengthen the overall client experience.”

Serenic Corporation is a publisher of mission-critical software products that satisfy the unique and sophisticated functionality requirements of nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies.
