Managing Volunteers

Volunteers are vital to the success of many non-profit organizations. Volunteers perform a variety of tasks within the organization, but coordinating the volunteers is often a full time job.

VolunteerMatters is Software as a Service (SaaS) application that helps non-profits maintain their volunteer lists and coordinate volunteer activities. Since VolunteerMatters is an on demand application, there is no software to download. All the information is stored on a secure offsite server.

Any organization that uses volunteers such as churches, museums, community organization, schools, corporate volunteers and women’s groups can sign up for VolunteerMatters. With VolunteerMatters, non-profits can create a database of volunteers, but in addition to a database, VolunteerMatters gives the non-profits tools to manage the volunteers.

The non-profit can create customized application forms, match volunteers with openings, send bulk emails to potential volunteers and track volunteer activity. Volunteers that sign up with the non-profit are entered into a customizable contact database. The database also tracks contacts’ activities and there is an online contact directory.

VolunteerMatters offers built in report templates or the non-profit can customize their own. It is possible to modify and memorize the reports. The non-profit can track volunteering goals and requirements and the program makes it easy to send out letters thanking volunteers for their help.

VolunteerMatters offers email and telephone support, online training. VolunteerMatters provides free set up, redundant backups and the product improvements are instantly available.

It is a fee-based service with several levels of access available from a Lite access for 1 Administrator and up to 250 contacts to The Pro, which offers up to 5 administrators, and 5,000 contacts.
