Every nonprofit needs a way to fund their campaign. Whether it's through grassroots efforts, silent auctions, or canvasing; without donations, a nonprofit cannot thrive. In 2003, the founders of DonorPro; Darwin Whaley and Frank Amoruso put together software that would help nonprofits and charities manage their donations through online technology.

DonorPro is compatible with large and small organizations a-like. Because they focus on distinct ways of fundraising (DonorPro FriendRaising focuses on Peer-to-Peer Fundraising while DonorPro Connect is exclusively Mobile Marketing), it doesn't matter if you are an organization of 10 or one of 1,000; DonorPro has software that your organization can benefit from. With their software suites, you can tackle anything from volunteer organizing to cultivating donors.

In Use
For $180 per month and $0.005 per constituent, charities can use all avenues of the software. At first glance, you may be attracted to DonorPro for their Payment Processing software (DonorPro Merchant Service), but as you grow as an organization you may want to take advantage of their Web Design and Content Management System (DonorPro WebSolutions). DonorPro grows with you, and no matter how many constituents you have, you'll never be too large or too small to use DonorPro.

What sets DonorPro apart from many other nonprofit software companies is that they're always there to help. It's important to them that you, as a company are familiar and confident in DonorPro software. They'll talk with you, find out your end goal, and what you'd like to track and then set up the DonorPro with your information. They'll then take 30-90 days to train you and your staff using your data. If a new person gets hired they will train your new employee in a free four hour course.

Technology Employed
DonorPro is compatible with Macs and PCs. The only thing an organization needs is a stable internet connection.

Ease of Use
Starting a program like DonorPro can be extremely overwhelming especially if this is a new venture for your charity. DonorPro is committed to helping their clients with problems that may arise. Rest assured that their customer service is spot on and counteracts any initial confusion.

Recap
DonorPro is an integrated fundraising software whose goal is to help nonprofits grow as a company and raise more money. They do this by providing their clients with a surplus of software specializing in everything from mobile marketing to peer-to-peer fundraising. What is most notable about DonorPro is their customer service. Their willingness to provide free customer service via phone or email sets the bar high when it comes to competition.

•   Offers a 30-90 day training period. If a new employee gets hired, they get a free 4-day training couse.

Disadvantage
•   DonorPro can be confusing to navigate and often takes a few months before a client is comfortable.

•   Price is a bit intimidating for smaller organizations

My Opinion
While DonorPro is known or their outstanding customer service, the real question is; is their software helpful? What made DonorPro stand out to me in particular is the many avenues in which an organization can use DonorPro. Whether your a small organization who just wants to use it for their payment processing or your charity wants to venture into web design, they have it all. I meant it when I wrote that no organization is too big or too small to benefit from DonorPro. I wouldn't be surprised that as the years go on, DonorPro will introduce new software to keep up with the growing trends of the nonprofit world.
