Mobile fundraising program Text-to-Pledge® has raised more than the $30 million for its nonprofit partners since its founding in 2007. This achievement comes on the heels of the company’s $25-million announcement in early April, as well as the launch of their newly designed website, which went live July 10.

“We’ve seen dramatic growth with Text-to-Pledge, mainly because nonprofits are starting to realize that the best way to significantly impact the bottom line isn’t by asking people to ‘like’ a nonprofit’s Facebook page – It’s by making a sincere request to give in front of a live and captive audience,” said Reed Baker, CEO of Sophist and creator of Text-to-Pledge®. “We’ve found mobile fundraising to be especially effective at high-end events where most attendees already have the capacity to give at significant levels, even if they have individually paid to attend. We make it easy and exciting to commit and to follow through with those commitments.”

Text-to-Pledge®, a registered trademark of Sophist LLC, enables guests to pledge contributions through their mobile devices, with an optional on-screen broadcast within the event space of a personal message and donation amount. Nonprofits have shared that Text-to-Pledge® provides more than just a medium for accepting donations; it changes the feel of an event.

“Mobile giving has significantly increased donor participation at our awards dinners,” said Katy Cruz, external relations manager at Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO). “We see the excitement and interest in our organization through the messages that our donors text in.”

The newly unveiled webpage – http://www.texttopledge.com – embodies the Text-to-Pledge® identity with easy navigation and minimalistic design. Information is conveyed using black-and-white imagery above concise descriptions. Visitors will find information on Text-to-Pledge®, industry statistics, and client testimonials.
