Sage North America has put Millennium, its Web-based CRM application for large non profits, into the channel. The company said the program, previously available only via the direct sales, would be available through a channel that includes authorized referral partners, authorized resellers and certified implementation partners. Referral partners can receive a referral fee based on license revenue. The details of this program are probably less important to a lot of this channel than the fact that Sage turned a direct-sale product over to the channel as there has been much unease that Sage might turn towards direct sales. The latest retooling of the product came with the release of version 7.8 in November with a new user interface along with integration with Find Wealth On Line from Wealth Engine. Millennium also integrates with Sage Payment Solutions so that nonprofits can complete payment processing through the system. And this is another important sign in that it shows Sage is starting to deliver on the pledge to integrate its payment technology with a far broader range of products.
