Blackbaud, Inc. (Nasdaq: BLKB), has announced the availability of Blackbaud Nonprofit Central™, a solution created specifically for community foundations that enables them to connect nonprofit organizations with donors of similar philanthropic interests. Integrated with Blackbaud® NetCommunity™, Nonprofit Central is an online database that provides donors information they need to make informed philanthropic decisions in a single online experience.
“With Blackbaud Nonprofit Central, organizations can highlight their mission and specific needs, share program outcomes, and easily apply for grants online,” said Lou Attanasi, Blackbaud's senior vice president of products “These days, donors have an unprecedented amount of choices when researching worthy causes, and they are becoming more engaged in the giving process. With Nonprofit Central, community foundations can offer comparative information about organizations making it easier for donors to make informed decisions and recommend grants.” Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT) was founded in 1953. Since then, it has made more than $1 billion in grants and has grown to become one of the largest community foundations in the nation. Today with Nonprofit Central, CFT will launch a site called DonorBridge allowing donors to learn about nonprofits in need and recommend specific nonprofits for grants from donor advised funds. CFT partnered with The Dallas Foundation and Center for Nonprofit Management to make DonorBridge a community-wide initiative. Starting today, credit card gifts made by anyone through DonorBridge to qualified nonprofits will be matched dollar-for-dollar while funds last. “By making this valuable resource available to our many constituents, which includes nonprofits, donors, fund advisors, and board members, we have been able to increase both the breadth and depth of philanthropy as well as better position our organization as a leading philanthropic partner in our community,” said Paula Peters, CFT’s senior director of community outreach. “DonorBridge will increase the scale and impact of giving by making mutual connections between nonprofit organizations, donors and supporters.” Community Foundations can use Blackbaud Nonprofit Central to: Empower donors to make smart funding decisions with guidance while maintaining independence Select what information is accessible to the general public on their websites, and highlight specific nonprofits Fulfill donor matching requests based on donor interests Complement internal grant making reviews - annual budget, application basics, and evaluations Access nonprofit profiles 24/7 and share data with other grant makers Blackbaud’s solution for community foundations is the industry’s most comprehensive and tightly integrated solution for foundations.
