Accelerate™ Platform Helps Komen Win W3 Best In Show Award

UR Mobile, the leader in mobile Web solutions, today announced that its AccelerateTM Mobile Web Development Platform served as the primary development tool for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® entry in the W3 Awards, honoring creative excellence on the Web.  The non-profit's entry won the W3 2011 Best in Show award in the "Mobile Websites-Health & Wellness" category.

W3, sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, recognizes the creative and marketing professionals behind award-winning sites, videos and marketing programs.  Mobile Web entries in the international competition are judged on their creativity, usability, navigation, functionality, visual design and ease of use.  Only 1% of all work entered in the competition achieve "Best in Show" status.

Komen for the Cure's adoption of Accelerate was driven by the organization's desire to break into the mobile marketing space.

Accelerate, UR Mobile's flagship product, is a complete design and development platform that makes it possible to quickly deploy world-class mobile marketing functions compatible with all browser-enabled smartphones including Apple, Android, BlackBerry and Nokia devices.  The solution easily and cost-effectively supports friction-free mobile channels suitable for any kind of B2B or B2C commerce.

As a complete design and development platform, Accelerate offers an intuitive, drag-and-drop mobile Web Design Studio, marketing tools, and a Content Management System (CMS).  The Design Studio includes a template editor capable of implementing virtually any design scheme, along with a wide range of customer interactivity through online forms and surveys, Facebook and Twitter account connections, QR codes, and videos or photo slideshows.

The award-winning mobile website from Susan G. Komen for the Cure (m.komen.org) provides a quick and easy destination for breast health and breast cancer information, donation opportunities, information on getting involved, and more.  The mobile website was created, and is currently managed, by Brian C. Penrod, Manager of Interactive Media for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.  UR Mobile's design template was used as the basis for the organization's mobile Web destination.

"UR Mobile's goal in creating Accelerate was to give organizations of all sizes, whether commercial or non-profit, a complete, easy to use and highly dependable mobile Web development solution," stated Mike J. Zserdin, Chief Executive Officer of UR Mobile.  "In today's world every enterprise, from the largest multi-national to the newest startup company, needs a strong mobile presence.  We congratulate Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and we're pleased that Accelerate could help make such a worthy effort possible."

The 2011 W3 Awards were announced on October 12, 2011.  For more information on the awards, visit www.w3award.com.
