Massachusetts Nonprofits Eligible to Receive New Website

Jackrabbit Design, a full-service brand design firm, announced today its "Carrots for a Cause" contest, the firm's second annual pro-bono initiative aimed to help one Massachusetts registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization reach a larger audience by designing and developing a new website valued up to $50,000. The contest will be open for submissions from June 18 through July 16, 2012. The winner will be announced in August.

Qualifying submissions to "Carrots for a Cause" should convey the organization's mission and its role within the community. Organizations should also indicate how a new website might help to elevate the organization's presence and impact the local community. Organizations will also have an opportunity to submit a photo, essay or video to share details of their mission and work.

Entries may be submitted at http://www.jumpingjackrabbit.com/carrotsforacause from June 18, 2012, to July 16, 2012. Voting will take place July 18 through August 12, 2012. The winner will be announced on August 13, 2012.

"We're looking for organizations with true dedication to their mission that give back to the community at a local or national level in a unique way," said David Belyea of Jackrabbit Design. "Jackrabbit has extensive experience with nonprofits and we'd like to put it to good use for another worthy organization this year. A word of advice to this year's contestants: Last year's winner, Good Sports, really took initiative to spread the word using every possible social media channel, from Facebook Twitter and blogs to all of their organization's email signatures including the link to vote. It definitely helped boost their results."

On July 17, Jackrabbit will post all entries to the company's website and Facebook page. The public can cast their votes for the most deserving nonprofit organization as the winner. Voting will be open to the public beginning July 18, 2012, at 12 A.M. ET. The Leaderboard will display the current votes tally for each entry. The winner will be announced on August 13, 2012 on the Jackrabbit website and the winning charity will be notified via email. Those wishing to enter the contest may submit entries athttp://www.jumpingjackrabbit.com/carrotsforacause beginning June 18.

The 2011 Carrots for a Cause winner, Good Sports, unveiled its new website designed by Jackrabbit in May 2012.

"Winning this website from Jackrabbit has had a tremendous impact on Good Sports. Their creative team developed a clean, polished and modern website that is truly a reflection of the organization," said Christy Keswick, Chief Operating Officer of Good Sports. "In addition, the capabilities that were integrated into the website allow us to easily and cost effectively keep our website up-to-date with our impact, press and media and our supporters which will keep this site relevant for many years to come. We are incredibly grateful to have won the first Annual Carrots for a Cause and highly encourage other nonprofits to engage in this contest so that they can potentially reap the same benefits."

Committed to giving back to the community, Jackrabbit Design has worked with many nonprofit organizations within the Boston community, including The Boston Red Sox Foundation, The Genesis Fund, International Rett Syndrome Foundation, and Horizons for Homeless Children.
