Comcast Cares Day Partners with Local Nonprofits

April 27, more than 6,000 local Comcast employees and their families and friends will "make change happen" as they volunteer more than 38,000 hours of their time to benefit 27 Colorado nonprofits as part of Comcast's 12th Comcast Cares Day.

"Coloradans have always demonstrated their ability to work hard and to take care of one another-Comcast Cares Day brings these two attributes together"
Comcast Cares Day is Comcast and NBCUniversal's signature day of service and the nation's largest single-day corporate volunteer effort. More than 70,000 Comcast volunteers nationwide will participate in this annual day of service.

One of the largest volunteer efforts will be restoration for the Waldo Canyon Fire, one of the most destructive Colorado fires in recent history. A joint effort with the Spirit of the Springs, Colorado Springs Mayor Steve Bach has invited Comcast volunteers to join him in planting trees, seedlings and beautifying the Waldo Canyon area that was damaged by the devastating wildfires.

"Coloradans have always demonstrated their ability to work hard and to take care of one another-Comcast Cares Day brings these two attributes together," said Rich Jennings, Comcast Vice President for the Mile High Region. "By partnering with 27 outstanding Colorado nonprofits and working together to improve our community during our 12th Comcast Cares Day, we are honored to help make a big difference in the lives of others. I am thankful to all of our participants who are helping to make this a success."

This year, Comcast expects volunteers to participate in more than 600 projects across the country and for the first time will expand internationally with NBCUniversal operating various project sites in London. Comcast also expects to achieve another important milestone of 3 million volunteer hours and half a million volunteers since Comcast Cares Day started in 2001.

The Comcast Foundation will also provide grants to local community partner organizations across the country on behalf of each employee and family member who volunteers on Comcast Cares Day. The grants will help Comcast's community partners continue their mission of serving the community throughout the year. To date Comcast has committed more than $12 million in grants to organizations nationwide. Comcast has been committed to serving local communities since our founding 50 years ago.
