Classy Waives Transaction Fees for #GivingTuesday
Classy, the leading community mobilization and fundraising platform for nonprofits and social enterprises, announced it will once again waive Classy’s transaction fees for all participating organizations on #GivingTuesday, the global day dedicated to giving back every year on the first Tuesday in December. Classy has also launched a downloadable #GivingTuesday guide, which provides best practices, data and insights, infographics and tips for social enterprises to drive donations to meet and exceed their fundraising goals.
Created in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving, drawing diverse groups of individuals, communities and organizations around the world together to celebrate and encourage giving during the heart of the holiday season. Over 30,000 partners consisting of small businesses, nonprofits, and other organizations, from 68 countries around the world have banded together to drive donations on #GivingTuesday. Since its inception in 2012, there has been an estimated 470% increase in online donations on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. On the Classy platform alone, donations increased by 400 percent.
“#GivingTuesday provides the opportunity for individuals and communities to rally around social impact organizations driving meaningful change in their own communities and around the world,” said Scot Chisholm, founder and CEO of Classy. “At Classy, we’re uniquely positioned to help thousands of organizations raise awareness and funds on #GivingTuesday by sharing our platform data from previous years through our comprehensive guide for success on #GivingTuesday. We’re excited to share our lessons learned and also waive all transaction fees for organizations on Classy as a contribution to this growing global movement.”
