Girls Who Code Program Grows in Popularity

The non-profit summer program Girls Who Code started in 2012 with 20 girls in one classroom, reports USA Today. It has now grown to 380 girls in 16 classrooms around the country. The summer program gives young women interested in technology a chance to work with industry professionals at companies like Facebook, Square and Twitter.

Nonprofit Startup Incubator Gets Help from Google

Fast Forward, San Francisco’s new nonprofit startup accelerator program, recieved a donation from Google, reports Mashable. Google gave each of the five Fast Forward participants $20,000. All the Fast Forward startups tackle issues such as poverty, health, and education.

United Way To Accept Digital Currency

The United Way is now soliciting Bitcoin for its new Innovation Fund, reports the Chronicle of Philanthropy. At the moment, it is the largest nonprofit to accept the digital currency.
