Sage Nonprofit Solutions to be Acquired by Accel-KKR

Sage Group, plc has announced its intentions to sell Sage Nonprofit Solutions to Accel-KKR, a Silicon Valley-based private equity firm. The investment allows Sage Nonprofit Solutions, headquartered in Austin, to focus on implementing new and best-in-class solutions that meet the expanding needs of the nonprofit and government sectors.

As a technology-focused private equity firm, Accel-KKR has identified untapped opportunities around nonprofit technology. Through the investment of Sage Nonprofit Solutions, Accel-KKR enters the nonprofit technology industry with plans to grow existing products as well as expansion to address the unmet technology needs of nonprofit and government organizations. Accel-KKR boasts a record of growing its portfolio companies, with more than 100 percent growth in the employee base from the initial investment.

Sage Nonprofit Solutions clients will benefit immediately through this investment, which creates a company focused entirely on nonprofit and government technology. Clients will begin to see custom programs specific to their needs including a user conference, expanded customer community with an elevated customer experience and closer connection with mobile applications.

"With the acquisition from Accel-KKR, Sage Nonprofit Solutions is now a company dedicated completely to nonprofits and government agencies," said Krista Endsley, who was today named the Chief Executive Officer of the new independent company. "This focus allows us to respond at a higher level to our clients, who have requested improved community and network opportunities as well as expanded services and product offerings that we can now deliver upon."
