Unicef, British chip maker ARM and Frog, a San Francisco based product & strategy firm, have teamed up to find a way to use digital sensing to help the disadvantaged, reports the New York Times. The project ‘Wearables for Good’ is running a contest to find ideas for devices to help mothers and children in developing nations.

Google Fiber and NTEN Offer Fellowships

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Google has partnered with NTEN (Nonprofit Technology Network) to bring digital access to people who don’t have it. The Google Fiber project has “fellowships” available for those who want to help bring the internet to the underserved.
